Daisy 2

Oh, she make look innocent.
Daisy - Pahrump, NV April 2010
And act sweet
And decorate herself in flowers
and sleep peacefully with the aroma of roses swirling around her nose.
But really, she's waiting for me to move, so she can pounce on me. She's out of control.
I know you don't believe me. I'll get proof. Soon.

Warning...these pictures may freak you out!

While digging holes for oleanders,

Chad came across this nest.

We wondered what could possibly make this big of a hole.

What better way to find out? He just dug it up.

We were surprised to find this thing.

It was huge.

I think it's a tarantula.

I think it's disgusting!

The Love in My Life

Hearts of love have been following me lately.

These were the 1st ones I noticed.

Chad gave them to me on our anniversary.

It was Valentines Day.

He loves me and wanted to show me.

Even though he didn't know it. (that he wanted to show me that is)

 A few days later,

I went to lunch. Alone.

And this little love showed up on my plate unexpectedly.

I didn't notice the love in this fluffiness.

Until CJ pointed it out to me

That was back in November when I posted this picture.

I see it clearly now.

Just now, I realized where this love started.

And it makes me happy.

Very, very happy!

Boys

This....is why I don't like boys.

They fight...

And pick on girls...

And they take up too much space on my memory card because they are just so adorable.

Pickles

This...is why I don't like pickles.

But Chad loves them.

And I love him!

Defiance and Photo History

Ok, so I'm probably going to get kicked out of my photography class only after my 3rd week.

I'm not meaning to be so defiant, but I just don't get it. I am supposed to do a report on the history of photography.

This is what I came up with:

While light and reflection are the main sources used to produce our images, much of the history of photography has to do with the recording process. By that, I mean the invention and evolution of the tangible materials used to record our images. This evolution has progressed from images projected onto a darkened room wall, to permanent images being produced onto a polished pewter plate to be impressed upon paper, to chemicals and silver compounds being used produce images onto plates or tin, to the development of film, and finally to the world of digital photography.

The details of this photography evolution process are foreign to me and I have a hard time understanding the mechanics of the recording equipment.  I have read many sources on the history of photography and know where to find the information if needed.

Now, with that said, I want to mention that although the how’s and why’s of early photography just doesn't capture my interest, I am very anxious and excited to learn how to use modern digital equipment to produce the photos I desire.

A Tale of Valentine's Past

We went to the China Wok a few years ago with Tiffany and her family.

It was Valentines day.

After filling my plate at the buffet station, I came back to my seat and found this box at my place.

I was just getting ready to open it when when Chad leaned over to Jaxen and asked,

"What do you think Grandma is going to do when she see's whats inside?".

"hmmm..." he said. "I fink she will kiss you!"

Inside the box, was a ring. MY ring!

I had been waring it for years with a missing diamond and then finally had to put it away when I caught it on a trailer and broke the band.

But here it was , shiny and in one piece. Chad had my beautiful wedding ring repaired.

He put that ring on my finger and claimed me, once again, as his wife. Right there in the middle of Chicken on a Stick.

On Valentines Day.

Our Anniversary.

What else could I do?

I kissed him.

Jaxen just smiled as if his little mind was thinking "See? I told you!"

Chicken on a Stick

Last year, while the Gunter kids were visiting, we took Jaxen and Christopher to Chicken on a stick ( aka China Wok).

It's Jaxen's favorite place to eat.

He uses chopstix.

And eats...Chicken on a Stick.

And takes pictures of the Temple of Heaven (or 天坛, if your reading in Chinese), not the real on though because that one is in Beijing and we didn't travel out of Pahrump.

Something special happened to me at Chicken on a Stick a few years ago on Valentines Day!

It has to do with this:
