I've jumped on the band wagon

Not on purpose though. I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I know I sure did.

In my last post, I tried to act like I was such an important person by announcing that I would be back after the holidays. Truth is, I just didn't get my Beautiful Black My Touch pictures finished and I was too lazy to get them done. Then, Christmas came and Chad gave me these books. I can't resist books so that's what I've been doing. I started the first one on Saturday. I wasn't too far into it when I took this picture and I finished the last little bit tonight when I got home. So now here I am, back to my favorite pass-time, Blogging! I'll get some more pictures up soon. I know how anxious you "all" are to see them....Dang, I crack myself up sometimes.

Anyhoo...are you wondering what I think about Twighlight? It's good. Chad and I have been talking about the series for a while,  wondering what all the hoop-la was about. We were going to rent the movie the other night, but they were out. I haven't really had any desire to read the books or watch the movie, because I'm just not really crazy about vampires, I have never been interested in them. I've never even really seen any movie about vampires. So anyway, the subject hasn't made us interested in the Twighlight series, but wondering what the big deal about them has. So, our conversations made Chad give me the books for Christmas. He won't read them, but we will see the movies soon.

Oh yeah...back to the hoop-la. Well, I can see it. I don't know that it's so much about the story as it is the charecters. I've heard people who haven't read the book, say how weird it is that grown women are swooning over this young guy Edward from the movie. I haven't seen the movie, but I can see why they are swooning. The way this young man has been written, is amazing. I can see him perfectly and,  he is pretty much perfect. It's easy for me to understand now.

I wouldn't say I'm "hooked", but I will say it's very good, and I'm glad I got the books for Christmas.  So, even if your not into vampires, give Twilight a try. It's defiantly not a waste of time.   K - gotta go. New Moon is calling.

Zacky and Friend - Picture #26

Zachary's friend lost his head. Well actually he never had a head. He only had legs, we made him a body, and gave him that little ball for a head.
It's a flower pot (the legs). It's a coffee can attached to two wooden legs covered by jeans. I just put a shoe box in the coffee can for the body and then put on one of Zack's shirts. He was so proud of his friend.

Hercu-grandpa - Picture #25

Grandpa gave Kristy and Camron a lift crossing the track. He had just watered and that mud is STICKY!

Take out a nail and call me in the morning - Picture #24

My poor car had to go to the Dr's. Dr. Marvin. I had ran over a rivet somewhere and my tire was slowly leaking air. Luckily I know people who can fix this kid of thing.

Ahh - Picture #19

Camron is such a good poser. If he's in a good mood, he loves to have his picture taken. And if he's in a good mood, I love to take his picture.

Caller ID's - Picture #18

More caller ID photos for my Beautiful Black My Touch. These were all taken at the race track. I must have forgot my camera at this race. There are so many racetrack pictures on my phone this time.

Random-ness - Picture #17

Some random picture of the race track...Oh wait!

This might not be so random after all..

I think I see something, or someone!  That's Christopher, he's on top of that truck. How'd he get there? And what is he doing?

As the sun goes down - Picture #16

I think I'm addicted to sunsets. Sunrises too! It's so hard for me to take just one picture. The sky changes so quickly while the sun is setting. I just start to think I'm seeing the most beautiful sunset ever, and it changes and is more beautiful than it was a second before.
This is what I was staring at one night while I was supposed to be watching the races. I missed the race, but not the sunset.

Michelle - Picture #14

This is my sister Michelle. The middle picture is her normal picture pose. These pictures were taken at the hotel in Huntington, Utah. We were there for our Great Aunt Leora's funeral. Michelle and Megan came from Laramie Wyoming. I was really glad to see them, but sorry it had to be at a funeral.

Fremont Indian - Picture #13

We stopped by the Fremont Indian State Park off of I-70 in central Utah. The story of how this state park and museum came to be is quite interesting. You should read about it here.

Chad climbed into one of the pit houses. I was too afraid of getting stuck. They are not very big.

MegBug - Picture #12

My neice Megan. She didn't want me to take this picture, but I did it anyway!

Otter Creek - Picture #9

When my kids were little, we went deer hunting in October every year. The last few years of those trips were spent here. In Central Utah, at Otter Creek.

Chad and I stopped at Otter Creek this past October on our way home from Fish Lake where we went fishing with Trent and Kathryn. We couldn't really remember which road led us to this campsite and we spent about an hour searching for it. We hadn't been there in 16 years and although it looked familiar, we just couldn't find it. We were just about to leave when we gave one last road a try. As soon as we started to get close to it, we knew it was the right place.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of the story. I'll tell it with picture(s) #35.

Just Rocks - Picture #8

I first showed you these pictures when I told you the story of Zachary playing with rocks. It's a great story...read it here!

Home Sweet Home - Picture #6

I think it was the cloud that looked as though it was hoovering above my street that prompted me to take these pictures. Something seemed peaceful that day, and I was happy to be so close to home. I love my home.

How I named my blog

So do you remember a few days ago? I told you that Ruth at synch-ro-ni-zing had challenged fellow bloggers to post about how they named their blog. Well...here goes. Warning: This could get a little sappy.

When I first stumbled onto blogger I thought it would be fun to post some pictures to share with my family.
I wanted to do a blog, but I was really afraid. I didn't know the first thing about blogging. What would I write? What pictures would I put on? What if people saw my terrible punctuation?
My first choice for a name was my favorite saying. "Ummm...No!", but I decided against it. If I was going to blog, I wanted a name that was a little (or  a lot) less sarcastic.  So I started searching sayings and quotes to get an idea for a name that would describe how I felt creating a blog.
At first, I thought "Going Out on a Limb" was pretty corny. But after really thinking about it, I decided that was exactly what I was doing; Going Out on a Limb. I was going to put myself out there for everyone to see, and correct my grammar.
On the flip side of that though, I wanted my kids to read, enjoy and hopefully want to do one too. They don't update them, but they all have one now. It's kind of funny. Something I started "for them". Has turned into something I do for me.
So there it is. Going Out on a Limb...hoping to find the fruit, everyday that I blog.

*P.S. So I don't get too embarassed, please forget everything you just read.
