I've jumped on the band wagon

Not on purpose though. I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I know I sure did.

In my last post, I tried to act like I was such an important person by announcing that I would be back after the holidays. Truth is, I just didn't get my Beautiful Black My Touch pictures finished and I was too lazy to get them done. Then, Christmas came and Chad gave me these books. I can't resist books so that's what I've been doing. I started the first one on Saturday. I wasn't too far into it when I took this picture and I finished the last little bit tonight when I got home. So now here I am, back to my favorite pass-time, Blogging! I'll get some more pictures up soon. I know how anxious you "all" are to see them....Dang, I crack myself up sometimes.

Anyhoo...are you wondering what I think about Twighlight? It's good. Chad and I have been talking about the series for a while,  wondering what all the hoop-la was about. We were going to rent the movie the other night, but they were out. I haven't really had any desire to read the books or watch the movie, because I'm just not really crazy about vampires, I have never been interested in them. I've never even really seen any movie about vampires. So anyway, the subject hasn't made us interested in the Twighlight series, but wondering what the big deal about them has. So, our conversations made Chad give me the books for Christmas. He won't read them, but we will see the movies soon.

Oh yeah...back to the hoop-la. Well, I can see it. I don't know that it's so much about the story as it is the charecters. I've heard people who haven't read the book, say how weird it is that grown women are swooning over this young guy Edward from the movie. I haven't seen the movie, but I can see why they are swooning. The way this young man has been written, is amazing. I can see him perfectly and,  he is pretty much perfect. It's easy for me to understand now.

I wouldn't say I'm "hooked", but I will say it's very good, and I'm glad I got the books for Christmas.  So, even if your not into vampires, give Twilight a try. It's defiantly not a waste of time.   K - gotta go. New Moon is calling.

Zacky and Friend - Picture #26

Zachary's friend lost his head. Well actually he never had a head. He only had legs, we made him a body, and gave him that little ball for a head.
It's a flower pot (the legs). It's a coffee can attached to two wooden legs covered by jeans. I just put a shoe box in the coffee can for the body and then put on one of Zack's shirts. He was so proud of his friend.

Take out a nail and call me in the morning - Picture #24

My poor car had to go to the Dr's. Dr. Marvin. I had ran over a rivet somewhere and my tire was slowly leaking air. Luckily I know people who can fix this kid of thing.

Ahh - Picture #19

Camron is such a good poser. If he's in a good mood, he loves to have his picture taken. And if he's in a good mood, I love to take his picture.

Caller ID's - Picture #18

More caller ID photos for my Beautiful Black My Touch. These were all taken at the race track. I must have forgot my camera at this race. There are so many racetrack pictures on my phone this time.

Random-ness - Picture #17

Some random picture of the race track...Oh wait!

This might not be so random after all..

I think I see something, or someone!  That's Christopher, he's on top of that truck. How'd he get there? And what is he doing?

As the sun goes down - Picture #16

I think I'm addicted to sunsets. Sunrises too! It's so hard for me to take just one picture. The sky changes so quickly while the sun is setting. I just start to think I'm seeing the most beautiful sunset ever, and it changes and is more beautiful than it was a second before.
This is what I was staring at one night while I was supposed to be watching the races. I missed the race, but not the sunset.

Michelle - Picture #14

This is my sister Michelle. The middle picture is her normal picture pose. These pictures were taken at the hotel in Huntington, Utah. We were there for our Great Aunt Leora's funeral. Michelle and Megan came from Laramie Wyoming. I was really glad to see them, but sorry it had to be at a funeral.

Fremont Indian - Picture #13

We stopped by the Fremont Indian State Park off of I-70 in central Utah. The story of how this state park and museum came to be is quite interesting. You should read about it here.

Chad climbed into one of the pit houses. I was too afraid of getting stuck. They are not very big.

MegBug - Picture #12

My neice Megan. She didn't want me to take this picture, but I did it anyway!

Otter Creek - Picture #9

When my kids were little, we went deer hunting in October every year. The last few years of those trips were spent here. In Central Utah, at Otter Creek.

Chad and I stopped at Otter Creek this past October on our way home from Fish Lake where we went fishing with Trent and Kathryn. We couldn't really remember which road led us to this campsite and we spent about an hour searching for it. We hadn't been there in 16 years and although it looked familiar, we just couldn't find it. We were just about to leave when we gave one last road a try. As soon as we started to get close to it, we knew it was the right place.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of the story. I'll tell it with picture(s) #35.

Home Sweet Home - Picture #6

I think it was the cloud that looked as though it was hoovering above my street that prompted me to take these pictures. Something seemed peaceful that day, and I was happy to be so close to home. I love my home.

How I named my blog

So do you remember a few days ago? I told you that Ruth at synch-ro-ni-zing had challenged fellow bloggers to post about how they named their blog. Well...here goes. Warning: This could get a little sappy.

When I first stumbled onto blogger I thought it would be fun to post some pictures to share with my family.
I wanted to do a blog, but I was really afraid. I didn't know the first thing about blogging. What would I write? What pictures would I put on? What if people saw my terrible punctuation?
My first choice for a name was my favorite saying. "Ummm...No!", but I decided against it. If I was going to blog, I wanted a name that was a little (or  a lot) less sarcastic.  So I started searching sayings and quotes to get an idea for a name that would describe how I felt creating a blog.
At first, I thought "Going Out on a Limb" was pretty corny. But after really thinking about it, I decided that was exactly what I was doing; Going Out on a Limb. I was going to put myself out there for everyone to see, and correct my grammar.
On the flip side of that though, I wanted my kids to read, enjoy and hopefully want to do one too. They don't update them, but they all have one now. It's kind of funny. Something I started "for them". Has turned into something I do for me.
So there it is. Going Out on a Limb...hoping to find the fruit, everyday that I blog.

*P.S. So I don't get too embarassed, please forget everything you just read.

My Touch Collage

There...Here it is. The collage that I usually post before I start showing you all the pictures on my phone. I don't know what happened this time. I just jumped right in. No worries though, I have it now.

Dont worry, there aren't 15 billion fireworks pictures.

Enjoy!

Whoops! I got a little carried away

I've been posting the pictures from my beautiful black My Touch, but I forgot to number the pictures on a collage so you could see what was coming up.

So while I'm getting that ready, enjoy a nice cold drink with Zachary.

Speshells of the day - Picture #4

Christopher helped Aunt Puppy at the consession stand in the pits by writing out the menu board. I think I'll have the speshell; a bag of chips and a drink. Thanks Chris!

Caller ID - Picture #1

This is Sheila and Debbie, they work with me and I took these photos for the caller ID picture for them on my phone. They are so cute!
Many of the pictures in this group are caller ID pictures. I like to include all photos that are on my phone at the time I download them, so you get these pictures too.

I thought my life was over...

...When my beautiful black My Touch fell out of my pocket while riding the quad at the race track. I heard a sound and for a second thought I had run over something and flipped it up under the tire. But, after replaying it in my mind, I realized I hadn't run over anything and turned around only to see my phone laying on the ground in pieces. I had Zack with me and I didn't dare leave him on the quad by himself. So when I stopped, I took him down and we ran over to the wreckage. I quickly grabbed the pieces of my phone but I immediately realized that the battery was gone. Zack and I frantically looked around for a second for the battery. And when I couldn't see it right away, I made a decision that almost made me cry. I had to leave without it.

I could see the action of the Monster Trucks on the track and one was headed for the exit. Once it was off the track, we would be in it's path. I stuck the two parts of my phone in my pocket and took Zachary by the hand and headed for the quad. We made it by the time the truck was off the track, but he was clearly headed our way. We were a little freaked out for a minute because those trucks are HUGE. We inched over to the side near the fence and stopped. I just hoped we were far enough out of the way. We were over far enough and the truck stopped and turned around way before it even got near us, but it sure was scary for a minute.

After the truck stopped and the driver got out, Zacky and I zipped around him and went down to the stand side. When we stopped I went to get off and felt something under my foot on the running board. I looked down and guess what I found? My battery! I was so happy. I thought it was gone forever and even if I did find it, I thought it would have been run over 50 billion times by race cars. But there it was. I popped it back in my phone and it worked. IT WORKED!

So now, because my phone was spared, I can share with you the pictures that I have been taking with it. I told you
here how good the pictures are from this phone and I even proved it with a picture of little Elliott.

So are you ready? Check back tomorrow for picture #1.

Ruth asked, so I'll be telling

Ruth, at synch-ro-ni-zing had decided to host a major blog event in which she calls "highly anticipated truly GLOBAL" and is expected to have participants well into the tens of thousands.

So what is this highly anticipated blog event and why am I'm telling you? Because her mind is inquiring, she has asked everyone in blogville to mark their calenders for December 1st and post an entry on their blog titled "How I named my blog".

No one has ever asked me that question before. And until now, I have never really felt compelled to just tell. I think I might be going out on a limb...here, but I'm gonna do it.

If you read Ruth's post, you know about the dangers I'm about to face in doing this (traffic jams, paparazzi drama, protesters, etc.). I'm willing to do it though, for you.

I'm afraid now, very afraid.

Picture #25

OOPS! Has anyone seen picture #25? I have mis-placed it.

Picture #25 is/was another picture of the girl and her grandpa at the bus stop. Only they aren't there. Well they ARE there, but I wasn't quick enough with the picture so you can't see them. Which... is why we have picture #2. I had to keep trying until I got them.

So intstead of the people at the bus stop who aren't in the picture, I thought I would just give you a recap of all 29. Follow me?

Oh what fun - Picture #21

Are they over yet? I should probably tell you that I don't even really like fire works. I like going to watch the fire works though. It's fun. Especially When a bunch of my family get our chairs together somewhere in the middle of the Desert just before dark to wait for the fireworks. While we're waiting for them to start, we play, and talk, and tease, and sometimes eat and drink, but always have fun. I can't wait until next year.

See? It's Ortega - Picture #19

Per Kaylynn's instructions, I was to get Ortega Nacho Cheese Sauce in the blue can from Costco.
Well this was the only can that said Ortega, and it had a dent. The other cans were labeled all the same except for the word Ortega.
I didn't want to buy the dented can, but I don't get assignments from my kids very often and I didn't want to fail.
So, being the resourceful mom that I am, I took a picture from from my phone to prove it was Ortega and got the un-dented can.
Two points for Mom!
